The Internal / PDI Technician is responsible for performing New and Used car inspections as assigned in accordance with dealership and factory standards. This position will also install accessories and perform some light maintenance as well as perform state inspections. Responsibilities* Receive repair orders from dispatcher and take to stall area. Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.

Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
Communicate with service advisors if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
Document work performed in appropriate system. Road-test vehicles when required, ensuring vehicle is kept clean. Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
Attend company-sponsored training classes. Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
Understand and follow federal state and local regulations, specifically governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
 

Qualifications* High school diploma/GED Required

ASE certification a plus
Mut have state inspection certification
3+ years’ of service technician experience required
Willingness to participate in continuing education
Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment a must
